JestReport.com is dedicated to ‘the vituperative arts’, Auberon Waugh’s apt description for humor writing.
The first volume of JestReport.com appeared in February, 1876 and was modeled on Punch, the British humor magazine. The debut issue took the United States by storm. “Our success was immediate,” blogged founder John Tyler Wheelwright. “Our first edition had twelve web visits.” United States President Ulysses S. Grant was advised not to read the magazine, as he would be too much “in stitches” to run the government.
